The halls of Everett's Xfinity Arena Edward D. Hansen Conference Center were full Saturday March 19th to celebrate the NAACP Freedom Fund Gala. The attendants were dressed in their best. Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend was inspiring. Thursday: The kick off for the weekend started at Edmonds Community College with the "Be the Shift" Event featuring speaker Michael Eric Dyson. The event was a powerful reminder of the inequities in public and private society. Dyson spoke candidly about the undertones, and non-truthfulness perpetuated by people.
